Searching

The Standard Search includes a consultation with a Patent Examiner and complete patent search including all the appropriate classes and subclasses utilizing the new USPTO EAST/WEST image retrieval technology, the same search systems employed by the Patent Office Examiners.

State of the art computer workstations provide automated searching of patents issued from 1790 to the current week of issue using the patent examiner systems Web-based Examiner Search Tool, (WEST) and Examiner Automated Search Tool (EAST), the USPTO web site, and related applications. Full document text may be searched on U.S. patents issued since 1971 and OCR text from 1920 to 1970. U. S. patent images from 1790 to the present may be retrieved for viewing or printing.  Some foreign patent documents are available in EAST and WEST.

All searches are performed on the Federal facilities of the U.S. Patent Office in Virginia, which has superior resources than any other location. We find the combination of a complete search of the relevant patent classes and subclasses combined with thorough patent office wide Boolean text searching gives unparalleled results.

·     Patent Watches-- Weekly, monthly or quarterly, we will monitor your technologies for you and inform you of important activity.

·      State-of-Art Searches-- We will provide an assortment of patents in a general field, as a guide to what's out there. If requested, we can provide the patents on CD.

·     Novelty Searches-- With years of USPTO Examiner experience and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, we will pinpoint relevant published information.

·  Patentability Opinions-- We will analyze relevant documents and their potential impact under 35 U.S.C. § 101, 112, 102, and 103 on a described invention.

We perform all types of sequence searches.  We have access to files containing patent sequences from 40 patent issuing authorities covered by the Derwent World Patents Index and published sequences from global public and private scientific journal entries plus Genbank submissions.
